Benjamin System of Muscular Therapy
Developed by Ben Benjamin in the 1960's, muscular therapy is a bodywork system that incorporates Swedish massage, deep-tissue bodywork, and myofascial and friction therapies. Muscular therapy treats a variety of pain, injury, body perception and muscle tension problems. Myofascial and friction therapy techniques are used specifically to reduce scar tissue, which accumulates as a result of injury to soft tissue structures in the body. The technique focuses on assessing, treating and preventing pain and injury problems; reducing stress; increasing relaxation, helping clients learn to better care for and enjoy their bodies.
