Alexander Technique
Named for developer Frederick Matthias Alexander (1869-1955), the Alexander Technique attempts to bring self-awareness of the habits that harm the body. Not a therapy or counseling but rather a conceptual framework, the Alexander Technique employs a hands-on element that helps a client learn how the mind influences the body. Together with the therapist, the client identifies negative patterns that are causing distress in the body.
