Medical Massage
Medical massage is results-oriented and the session is directed to resolve conditions that have been diagnosed and prescribed by a physician. The therapist may use a variety of modalities or procedures during the treatment, but focuses treatment only on the areas of the body related to the diagnosis and prescription. Since it is beyond therapists' scope of practice to diagnose, they must work from a doctor's prescription if claiming to treat a specific condition. Nonprescribed therapy may also be administered to address clients, where assessment shows soft-tissue imbalances.
