Touch Therapy Instructors conduct workshops that offer hands-on experience both in conducting touch therapies and learning various aspects of research. The research aspect teaches different forms of data collection such as interviews, questionnaires and behavioral observations, monitoring physiological measures and collecting biochemical samples, including saliva and urine. Instructors conduct a variety of interactive sessions in which students learn the basic principles of conducting research, the different kinds of measures that assess the effects of massage, the essential components of a good research study and how to get one started.
